Honouring our pledge

We pledged with Fei and Eve to help an animal shelter if 25 others joined in too. Today mom got an email saying:

Congratulations!

We are pleased to tell you that the pledge you signed up to has
been a success!

The pledge, created by fei and eve, reads: 'I will donate to an
animal rescue organisation/ shelter of my choice but only if 25
other Dogs with Blogs members will do the same.' The 25th
person has signed the pledge, just moments ago!

Now it's your turn to do what you pledged.

We chose The Mayhew Animal Home to donate to, through Just Giving:

Mom's not turning on the pooter...

Hi folks

Sorry we can't be around for a bit. Mum's got lots going on at the moment, and she says she needs to concentrate on some of these hooman things and she's being really sad. She says a hooman furrend of hers she's known since she was a puppy is going to go over the bridge soon, and she can't focus on much else.

When the pooter's on, we can sneak on without mom knowing, but if she's not turning it on, then we can't do it with our soft noses (we tried!), so we'll have to wait to see you again when mom's feeling like returning to the blogosphere.

Sorry. We were just making other furrends here, and we're sad to have to be going, but we hope to be back (we can't say 'soon', cos that'd mean mom's furrend has gone over that bridge already, so we'll just say 'sometime')

Catch you later new furrends!

Let the dog see the rabbit...

[Sparky] Well, what do you know.... Jazz isn't such a saint after all!!

There was he going on about peace, and not chasing other little defenceless animals, and I almost believed him...

...almost.

Then, when we went up the forest (and this was after Dona Nobis Pacem, I assure you) we were happily wandering along, taking in the morning sunshine, when what do you think was waiting just round the corner? Yes... a poor defenceless *wicked grin* little...

...bunny rabbit!

At first, neither of us saw it. But Mom did. She took these picture here, while Jazz and I were busy sniffing other trails.

Then Jazz saw the little critter furry friend, and bolted after it faster than I've ever seen him move before! Like a greyhound, he was. He nearly caught up with it too, and would've done if mom hadn't distracted him by shouting... (so unfair)...

Jazz says he only wanted to catch up with the...er... little ball of fluff to make friends, but if that was the case, why was he yelling "Catch the hare! Catch the hare!" at the top of his voice?! Mom told him that wasn't a very peaceful way to behave at all, and he should try and show more restraint.

I don't think she saw me chasing that squirrel half an hour later... (phew)...

Shhhh... we've just got a minute before...

mom gets back!

It's so boring at the moment. Mom's been sick and had to stay off work, but you think she's taking us on lots of walks? No way!

All she does is sit around and look pathetic. She's spent the last few days shaking away at the computer, looking at Peace posts. Sparky said we should sneak on the computer while she's in the kitchen making another coffee. He says she'll never know.

Besides which, she hasn't let us blog for the last few days, so if we don't sneak on now, we'll never get our turn!

Anyhow, we wanted to say a big Thank You to all the wuffies, meowzers and hoomans who commented. We thinks it was very very nice to see so many visitors!

Sparky says we have to go in moment. He heard mom stirring her cup. She doesn't know we can type, and we don't want her to know, or she'll make us do it all ourselves in future - No way!

So, seeing as we've been showing you our sticks the last few days, we thought we'd show you how well we can behave round each other, even when the other one's got the bigger branch...

See? I got a stick, and I'm sharing it with Sparky:

Now Sparky's got the stick...

...but actually...

I think I might just have it back!

Oh well, that's sorted that one out. Mom found another one for me :-)

Dona Nobis Pacem

Dogs and Peace

We promise to try not to chase (many) cats, rats, mice, squirrels, deer , pheasants or rabbits, and to respect the differences of those creatures from us. Just because we are faster, stronger, sniffier and cuter, doesn't mean we are better - only different.

We hope that all the animals and hoomans of the blogsophere, and in the wider world, will try to get along and enjoy each others' differences. If those differences weren't there, and we were all 'the same', we thinks we, of the world, would find something else

Let us try not to look for those differences. Let us find things we share in common instead.

Peace!

We wanted a voice (sticky-post until Blogblast)

Our friend, Annelisa, has been blogging for a few months now, and she's really excited about Blogging for Peace, started by her friend Mimi at Mimi Writes.

Mimi begun the Blogblast for Peace movement last November, and lots and lots of cats have joined up, but no dogs (where are all my doggy friends?)

Now Mimi is asking if there's any dogs blogging, so I've told my mum that I would love to help her out, and see if I can sniff up some support!

So, here starts my quest to find out if there's a dogosphere like there's a catosphere. If there isn't, then I'm going to start one, 'cos us dogs need a voice too!

This is Mimi's vision: Dona Nobis Pacem in the Blogosphere (if you read any post, it's this one!)

This is us in the forest (our favourite place):

My stick!

.

Seeing as Jazz was showing off with his stick yesterday, I want to show you the one I found! Later, I'm going to get mom to put up a video of me carrying it. It's not at all funny like her and Jazz said... the stick's just the right size for me!!
